It looks like the Town of Kirkland has completed enough activities to qualify it for bronze certification. The appropriate documentation has been submitted to the state. After review, we hope to receive our Climate Smart certification within a couple of months.

DEC Announces 23 New Certified Climate Smart Communities
In June, 2024, the Village of Clinton achieved bronze certification.

The Town of Kirkland and the Village of Clinton (in the Town) in Oneida County, New York, have both adopted the New York State Climate Smart Communities pledge.
Climate Smart Communities is a program to help local governments reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate.
