I feel like this story isn't getting the attention it deserves. It should worry everyone that our government actively wants to use AI for mass domestic surveillance, and for automated lethal weapons.

For those TLDR:

- the black came from a mix of iron and tannins (traces of iron and sulphur were found on the teeth).

- they don't know why the practice originally started.

- in Asia, teeth blackening was frequently seen as a sign of beauty and civilization by those who practiced it.

If you want to get your kids a chicken or bunny for Easter, may I suggest a stuffed animal?

If you want them to have a direct experience with a live animal, may I suggest a petting zoo or interactive farm?

If I see a '6' and you see a '9', then we need to step back, orient, and look for context, because one of us is looking at the number upside-down (or needs an eye exam).

Journalists should also be looking for, and reporting on, the context - not just claiming it's a '6' because corporate said to.
