Peter Segal's 50 First Dates is the SECOND Adam Sandler movie to have me drowning in my own tears.

Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler in a rom-com is like a magic recipe for a fan-fuckin'-tastic time. I wish I'd seen this sooner.

Max Barbakow's Palm Springs is such a blast!

I love Grounghog Day, and I love when someone takes that formula and makes magic with it. That's the only way to describe Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti in this film.

Ari Aster's Eddington is equal parts funny and equal parts magnificent.

I couldn't love a movie more. This movie took a bleak period in time and held up a mirror, then invited us to laugh together. This is what movies are for.

My pitch for The Authority would be this:

Phantom Zone heist.

Superman recruits the Authority to help him get information on the location of Kandor by going into the Phantom Zone.

It’ll be like Warworld Saga meets season six of Smallville. It would also be a great setup for Brainiac!

The way the town was involved and included in the unraveling of the story felt very King. I’m sure your work was an inspiration.

Ari Aster's Hereditary had me clutching my chair, pushing my feet into the floor and covering my face.

David Mitchell's It Follows is a terrific debut from a terrific filmmaker!

I was never scared watching this but I love the concept, the theme, the score, everything. I only wish it scared me more.

Jack Clayton's The Innocents is a staple in haunted house stories... for good reason.

I was looking for movies about creepy kids and this delivered. Not exactly the way I expected but I can't say I'm sorry. It's shot beautifully and Deborah Kerr steals everything.

Alien: Earth, episodes 1 & 2 -

The worldbuilding has been delightful. Some of the new aliens being introduced are really interesting and I can't wait to get to explore them some more. I like all the actors, a ton.

What I'm trying to say is I trust in Noah Hawley.

Roger Christian's The Sender.

Another take on the telepathic and telekinetic. I quite like when this movie goes over the top. Big explosions. Slow-motion sequences. Weirdness.

It's just too bad there ain't more of it.

Brian de Palma's The Fury is an interesting film with an explosive ending (literally).

Government experiments on kids with telepathic and telekinetic abilities has been done so many times. But why of why has no one repurposed some of these shots. They're gorgeous.

Brandon Cronenberg's Possessor is mindblowing.

That ending is going to stick with me for a while. All the performances are incredible and the cinematography is just 🤌

Jason Keller (writer of Ford v Ferrari) came out with Stick. The Cobra Kai of golf. And yes, it's that good!

Owen Wilson, Timothy Olyphant and Judy Greer are brilliant, but the actor that really stole the show for me is Peter Dager. Wow, keep an eye out for that guy.

Seldom do I see a movie like Na Hong-jin's The Wailing.

A movie that's not afraid to trick its audience, lie to them even. Because it trusts that you will get it. Also, best child performance I've ever seen from Kim Hwan-hee. Put her in everything!

The Philippou brothers second feature outing: Bring Her Back, is gnashing and disturbing and heartfelt.

I had to cover my mouth at one point (you know which point). When a movie can do that to me... I just know it's special. Really loved my time with this.

Osgood Perkin's The Monkey...

I had a blast. Adam Scott using a flamethrower, Sarah Levy putting on sunglasses in the middle of the night to investigate noise, cheerleaders getting their heads chopped off by a semi. Couldn't have asked for more.

Felt like I was watching a director bloom. I loved Julia Garner in The Americans so I knew she had IT, but I never expected... WOW! I got Rosemary's Baby meets Gingerbread (03x11 in Buffy the Vampire Slayer) from this.

Watched Zach Cregger's Barbarian ahead of seeing Weapons (super excited).

This was right up my alley. Monster flick with a little bit of everything. The cinematography POPPED! Georgina Campbell's Tess has to be in the hall of fame for horror protagonists.

This was a Yakuza film meets revenge-a-matic. Kind of a Tokyo Drifter or Sympathy for the Underdog meets Kill Bill.

It's about two brothers that grow up in Little Tokyo. Their sister is murdered in a botched hit, one brother joins the Yakuza and the other sets out to kill everyone involved. (2/2)

Just watched Celine Song's Materialists.

Not really my kind of movie. I like surrealism and bombastic cinematography. But in today's romantic culture (what romantic culture, am I right?) I think it's a movie that highlights a lot of problems with modern dating. Problems I'm facing myself.
