I like the word ‘peregrination’ and also its Latin root (peregrinus, "foreign" or "traveling abroad"). It carries a sense of being a stranger, a pilgrim almost, wondering through the world.

That’s one of the things I really like about this poem: how it can be read in different ways. Yes, the poem being half in shadow adds to its form and seems to embodies what it’s doing in a way. I love that the person behind your N is too far away to see by the end of the poem.

Thanks so much, Tristan. And that’s a reading of the poem which enriches my own understanding of it. I also like the fact that the text in the photo by Ian McMillan is half in shadow!

Love this poem by @ianseedauthor.bsky.social too. It speaks to me partly about how we sometimes get carried away in our own performances and can end up lost or trapped.
