Real heads may remember that I have a firetail chenille plant I'm obsessed with named Rollie.

Well, I subscribed to @emilyhare.co.uk's commission tier and asked for a creature based on Rollie, and I couldn't be happier!

Trans people are facing a torrent of harmful legislation and dangerous rhetoric from people in power. It is past time we come together to defend their dignity, protect them from discrimination, and ensure their safety. President Donald Trump has spent years unfairly targeting trans people, and since the beginning of his term has instituted harmful and discriminatory policies against the trans community, including barring transgender servicemembers from military service and denying Americans the right to update government-issued documents to reflect their gender identity. These policies are negatively affecting the mental health and physical safety of LGBTQ+ youth, particularly trans youth, who have been the primary target of these attacks. In the United States, trans people are four times more likely to face violent attacks than their cisgender peers, and more than 40 percent of trans people have attempted to commit suicide. Further, the ban on transgender servicemembers will hurt our national security by unnecessarily dismissing well-trained, high-performing volunteers from our military services. In 2023, I joined a group of colleagues in cosponsoring the Transgender Bill of Rights, a landmark resolution to recognize the federal government’s duty in protecting and codifying the rights of trans and non-binary people. This resolution calls for basic protections for trans people, including ensuring they have the right to bodily autonomy and ethical healthcare as well as equal access to public services and accommodations. I am also a cosponsor of the Equality Act, which would protect LGBTQ+ people against discrimination in employment, housing, credit, education, public services, and other areas.
