Found this on the anniversary of the 19th Amendment's Ratification. Coincidence? In any case, sharing to highlight a resource I was begging for at the start of my DPhil: an interactive women's suffrage map! GREAT way to visualize the growth of women's suffrage! depts.washington.edu/moves/WomanS...

pleasantly surprised with how Chief of War has shown the Pacific World so far. Really expected them to gloss over Ka'iana's time with the trading ship β instead we're getting treated to a full look at just how wide and interconnected it was! Jumping from Alaska to the Philippines in one episode.

They did β Admin. has claimed a loophole which means that the bases still won't be named for the Confederates...but other soldiers who share the same names as them. My quote was referring to Ft AP Hill specifically β no longer for Ambrose Powell Hill but 3 union soldiers named Anderson, Pine, & Hill

Call me crazy, but I really can't imagine that Union soldiers would love the idea of their names being used as a political football to honor a Confederate at the expense of Union surgeon!!!!

Abolitionist and woman suffragist Lucy Stone came through Louisville in 1853 as part of a lecture tour of MO, IN and WV. In her Bloomer costume, Stone gave three speeches, with thousands packing the halls each night. Orators in the suffrage movement bragged of a good event as "a Kentucky welcome."

Maryland National Guard out of Frederick Douglass parade after DoD order
Strict guidance from the national defense department crushed plans for a parade held in honor of Frederick Douglassβ 207th birthday because it was being held during Black History Month.
βThe Maryland National Guard must decline events which celebrates individuals based all or in part on immutable characteristics,β the memo said.
Douglass was an abolitionist, suffragist, orator and author. Thatβs what we celebrate him. Letβs be clear: This bars celebrating him because he was Black.
