New update!

This time I worked on the ears, the inside of one of the pauldrons, plus its rim, and, most noticably, the chest.

Based on the sculpt and armor shape, I felt like shading it very 'pushed up'.

I need to remember to use this platform more and leave X behind. He’s a video of where I’m at with the bust. Really pushing to finish this for MPO and to as high a level as I possible can. Managed silver (standard) last year and I’d love to match it or even beat it this year. #minipainting

Last weekend I was at Warhammer Fest for their anniversary event! I had loads of fun and have made a little video of what activities there were. Expect a lot of fangirling, sorry:

oils- A large chubby axolotl dragon lays on top of an island in a large lake. The island has several buildings on it. It is golden hour in the morning and there are large mountains in the background. The mountains, dragon and island and reflected in the lake like a mirror. A villager sits in a small rowing boat clutching his head in dismay as the friendly dragon blows bubbles in the water.

Digital- A decaying fairy performs a moonlit dance on the petals of flowers for an entranced human. two other fairies lie in ambush for the human.

oils- Volcanic slough- An oil painting of an volcanic environment at a dark, moody sunset. Glowing orange and yellow Lava flows over cliffs like a waterfall into a swamp creating steam. The swamp water is a grey blue reflecting the lava flows and steam in some areas. There is a small rapids as the water flow exits at the right side of the painting. A volcano in the background spews ash into the air as it is about to erupt.

oils- Rust queen- An oil painting of a warrior queen sat on a throne, holding a sword across her lap. There is a large sabertooth lynx next to her and a large vault with turquoise door behind her. She has a bionic eye and arm and wires and skulls are in the background.

A collage of two pictures, split horizontally, showing the left and right flank of this sci-fi style horse miniature. It is mostly painted with celestial bodies and a general space-theme, but framed by details I have started to paint as different metal surfaces. This week, on monday and wednesday, I started sketching in the first of those, which I decided to paint as non-metallic-metal brass.

A close-up of this first horse I'm painting, from the "Apollon, god of sun" miniature from Kimera Models. This side of the horse catches a bit more light than the other, so I went for brighter highlight tones in the sketching and kept it warmer overall. It is far from done, though, so there might still be changes later on.

A close-up of the other side of the same horse, which is generally meant to look less bright and saturated, however that caused it to look a bit too dull at this point in time, so I'll likely push the dark ends of the surfaces further toward black. But we'll see how that'll turn out in the next steps :) - Let me know if you enjoy these extra detailed alt-texts. I think they could be a great place for additional context and general info.

NMM time!

Before I move on to the second horse, I want to at least figure out what metals to frame the space paintings with and how to paint them.

I'm going with a polished brass for some of the metal surfaces and sketched that out, this week.

Results were a few days ago, but I managed to pick up bronze in both standard single figure and the one-off rust in peace category at MPO online competition. The aim was silver so a little disappointed but an improvement on last year #minipainting #warhammercommunity

I’m still plugging away at this bust. I’m reworking a lot of the gold based on some feedback and I think that it’s looking a lot more believable. This was only going to be a practice piece, but I think that I now want to do it for competition #minipainting #worldofwarcraft #mtg #warhammer

I'm on shared parental leave at the moment so no hobby for me, but I managed to snap a pic of this recently finished(?) natural sprinter.
