That’s not a natural variation in the wood, uh bamboo, grain, that’s ink! Thankfully it didn’t stain it in the long term.

Ended up frogging that bit since, while I know how to fix a dropped stitch normally, everything shifts around when making cables & it was going to be too tedious to figure out.
Also had to wash ink off my needles and I think that’s the first time I’ve ever had to clean my knitting needles???

My wife is tired of me belting out “Golden” every hour at home. I guess we’re past the honmoon stage of our relationship.

I swear there’s a dropped stitch in this photograph, the cables make it much harder to find than usual so I had to pour over the backside.

those instances. I swear I have no beef with anyone who makes gore-y costumes etc.! But some folks get really offended when I saw it's not my cup of tea and that's made me twice bitten thrice shy about it >.<

And I mean, is that not the point of horror etc, to make someone "react"? It's definitely a job well-done in that regard! I just feel doubly weird when I'm in communities where people seemingly enjoy that sensation and lean into it, & it's surprisingly difficult to politely extricate yourself in

Funny enough, I'm fine with "real" gore, like if someone is bleeding in front of me yeah I can handle it without flinching, but special effects just, make my brain react in ways I don't like ^^;

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only costumer who /doesn't/ like seeing horror costumes. Like yes, I can definitely respect the time and effort needed to make really gross looking things but oh god, seeing that out of the blue on my timeline is a jump scare ;-;
