As someone whose cosplays almost never get recognized at cons, it does in fact get a little depressing when absolutely no one wants to take your photo or go "oh it's X!"
So yeah, absolutely valid to go "well, if no one even recognizes it, will I still 'get' 'enough' out of doing this???"
