Definitely need to add this to my reading list. Art is a life raft, keep creating everyone!

I do not get inspired to write by negative feelings. I don’t find that one must write from a place of misery in order for writing to be true and meaningful and good. If that works for you, great, but it doesn’t for everyone. And it’s kind of a crummy thing to perpetuate as a given or requirement.

True story: #StarTrek had Kirk reporting to a Black flag officer five years before the U.S. Navy had a Black admiral. Representation matters, and Star Trek has always been political.
