Never submitted a comic book to be graded and stabbed which are my little joys and should be read. But these ones have very personal art on them and I decided to preserve them at ECCC. Not for a rating but for posterity. I will post them to share when done. Depending on how it goes. I may do more.

I do a financial literacy survey in my econ class. I ask what age to they think they would like to retire. I normally get 60-70 or never. This year I got a bunch of 40-50 and one 20-30. I think I teach too close to fantasy aka tech boom dreams and parents who retired really young.

Student asked how to guarantee them being in my class next year. I open my wallet and point to it. They tell me that they don't know what that means. Another student, "Pay that man!" I crack up and student says, "Hell nah, I'll take the other teacher." Now the whole class is laughing.

I know it’s difficult right now, but I insist that you seek and enjoy beautiful things, even if it seems frivolous or irresponsible in the face of overwhelming horror. I want you to feed yourself artistically, spiritually, and literally, because you can’t Do The Work when you’re starving.

What happened to me? I have gone from never attending a Con to now soon headed to my fourth. I have gone from mail only commissions to pre-show commissions. I am interacting with artists and looking forward to these events. I am even going to do a day of cosplay at ECCC. I blame @lianakangas.com 😘

First day back after the mid-year break is always fun. New Wifi that requires you to download something first which turned into a cart before the horse situation. Fixed and then found a printing issue and an old hotspot that is still connected. Tech is fun.

I did not wake to becoming a billionaire. I had to go to work. But at least I will get to see happy faces. Oops it is finals week. Then we can relish misery together and look forward to two weeks off!
