Ich muss bei der katastrophalen momentanen Berichterstattung des ÖRR immer wieder an das Zitat von Gary Lineker denken, als er sagte, dass die BBC „versucht, die Menschen zu beschwichtigen, die die BBC hassen [..] anstatt sich um die Menschen zu kümmern, die die BBC lieben.“

Many comments on Germany‘s restrictions of arms exports to Israel miss one crucial part: international reputation. These restrictions will not stop the war, but they will be noticed in third states. We shouldn’t downplay the importance of „symbolic policies“ in IR.

Es ist viel viel mehr als nur U-Boote. Unter anderem Getriebe, Ersatzteile, und Munition für Panzer. Dazu Panzerfäuste und Infrarotgeräte. Alles nachzulesen zB hier: www.gkke.org/wp-content/u.... Problem ist aber auch, dass viele Exporte nicht veröffentlicht werden.

Wird es einen Einfluss auf die israelische Kriegsführung haben? Nein. Ist es richtig, die Exporte jetzt zu stoppen? Ja. Kommt es zu spät? Ja. Ist es genug? Nein. Es ist ein ganz kleiner Schritt in die richtige Richtung. Wichtig ist, was jetzt folgt. Und da muss man leider skeptisch sein.

Ist für die Frage der Rechtmäßigkeit nicht alleine entscheidend, sondern auch, ob es nur ein Risiko geben könnte, dass die Rüstungsgüter für Menschenrechtsverletzungen eingesetzt werden (siehe Art. 7 Arms Trade Treaty). Und das kann man wohl angesichts der Lage kaum bestreiten.

I can’t get over the fact that there are still people who argue that there wouldn’t be a famine in Gaza. If you don’t believe the massive evidence, maybe journalists and NGO employees should be allowed to enter and report. Instead, they can’t, and those who are inside got killed or face starvation.
