It would be cool to have a legislature that acted to defend its own constitutional prerogatives and, maybe as a treat, the interests of the people it represents too.

Jesse Jackson told me why he really ran for president He insisted it wasn’t a vanity project. History proved him right.

A real joy to work with former Mother Jones editor Douglas Foster on this remembrance—and corrective—in which he revisits his own 1987 MJ cover story, peels back the curtain, and reveals Jackson as the far-sighted visionary he truly was. A lovely read: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

We've got beyond the practice of agents wearing masks to outright deception and abuses of trust. The lesson they are teaching the public is to not trust their government.

Trans Kansan's being stripped of their licenses due to having previously - legally - changed their gender marker is absolutely shocking.

A person who misses the letter - let's they moved and forgot to have their mail forwarded - could drive to work and be arrested for driving without a license.

Kansas Sends Letters To Trans People Demanding The Immediate Surrender Of Drivers Licenses "The legislature did not include a grace period."

It seems all Kansas-issued trans drivers' licenses are invalid, effective tomorrow

It is now illegal for trans people to drive a car until they surrender their license at a DMV (that most will need to drive to) and have it reissued with the wrong gender marker

This was never about woman's sports

A homemade flag—made with a toothpick attached to a picture of POTUS—stuck in dog poop.

Today seems like a good day to shout out the crafty person in my neighborhood who made these little flags to stick in the dog crap left by lousy people who fail to pick up after their dogs.
A two-for-one comment for ongoing shitty behavior.

Only the GOP can get away with speaking to voters like this without having the MSM blast them for months for being condescending to 'real America'

Rep. Garcia: The Trump administration is trying to strip Fourth Amendment rights. ICE wants to write its own “permission slip” to break down doors without a judge. Those spreading violence and chaos are the same ones ignoring the Constitution.

WHISTLEBLOWER: ICE cut almost half it's training program, specifically the parts about the Constitution, the US legal system, use of force, proper arrest and detention, and WEAPONS TRAINING.

THAT is why US citizens are being murdered and agents are dropping their guns.

Alysa Liu telling 60 Minutes “I love struggling, it makes me feel alive” is a legit revolutionary statement from a Bay Area native in a time when copious amounts of time and resources are being put toward convincing us to opt out of experiencing struggle, friction and self-actualization

‘Andor’ Creator Tony Gilroy Gives the Interview He Couldn’t During Its Release While promoting his cautionary tale about fascism, Disney asked Gilroy to refrain from using the word. Nine months after it aired its finale, the 'Star Wars' series feels scarily prescient.

“We were stunned [about the prescience] for a while, but we’ve really gotten to the point where it’s really sad. It’s just sad how predictable and lame and obvious and wrong it all is. Fascism is just a total fail in the end.” www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-featur...

Thousands of institutions abandoned programs, ended or rewrote scholarships, closed down clubs and publications, all in pre-emptive compliance.

And you know why?

Mostly because they wanted to do it if they thought they could blame someone else for it.

When a nation cages children, strips rights, silences dissent & weaponizes poverty, the world doesn’t call it leadership!

It calls it Crimes Against Humanity!

If it’s a tax on them, elites make it sound like a tax on you. If it’s a tax on you, they make you wonder if it’s a tax at all.

When you understand that, you can see how the news media actually created conditions in which some middle-class Americans unknowingly voted for their own immiseration.

‘He gave me my wings’: Jesse Jackson opened doors for Black women in politics Jackson, who died Tuesday, worked to diversify the electorate and brought Black women into Democratic politics who ascended to positions of power.

Spent today talking to just a few of the Black women who credit Jesse Jackson with their start in national politics. By inviting them in, he ensured they would help shape democracy for years to come. My latest on the coalition he built as part of his towering legacy: 19thnews.org/2026/02/jess...

It’s so hard to have a reasonable conversation about AI, because people refuse to see the massive upsides of job elimination, higher electrical bills, hard drive shortages, poisoning black people in Memphis, and an economy where a handful of pedos with bad hair control your life

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

How much do S.F. teachers make vs. city workers? Much less. The average schoolteacher makes $20K less than the average librarian, and a whole lot less than police, firefighters, leg aides, and nurses.

San Francisco teachers will enter their 4th day on strike Thursday, unless a deal is made late tonight.

Negotiations have centered on wages, among other issues, so we asked: How much do teachers make vs. city workers?

On average, less—much less.
