I think the worst part is how so many people do it subconsciously though.

Like it's so ingrained in everything from general character opinions to ships, men characters are just basically treated way better and like they're way more important, while women characters are held to significantly higher standards yet are simultaneously treated as lesser by people.

Once you realize how misogynistic fandoms are like, in general, its hard to not see it in everything whenever women characters are involved and it sucks.

liking wlw is a curse bc it doesn't matter the media, you're going to get attached to a woman character that gets shipped with the blandest men alive by the fandom based on vibes but then you're expected to justify your wlw ship for her to those people

they tell you the shiny charm boosts your shiny spawn rate but what they don't tell you is 80% of those shinies will be pidgeys or fletchlings
