I don't think AI is very capable because I just asked Claude to code an AI that could play chess and that AI is barely beating me

I think the fact that LLMs do generate text and guide people makes them categorically different than other hobbies where you have much more control, but I totally see what you're saying

Yeah I agree that some people have been unnecessarily sneering at some of the ways people are using Claude, I talk to Claude about my emotions all the time and have found it very helpful!!! Though I will say, there are legitimate cases of LLMs exacerbating mental illness
