I know people have a lot of feelings about AI, but if you strip all that away for a second and just try to chat with an LLM, current AI is really unlike anything. genuinely feels on par to conversing with a person, in many ways. Even just five years ago, there was simply no technology like this.

mayybe there's some kind of motivation thing where even with weekly sessions, you feel less motivated to open up to friends or other support systems and this is negative for you

that makes sense if you imagine someone who wouldn't really benefit from therapy, but goes anyway because it's generally encouraged. Although even in that case, I think it's hard to do enough therapy such that you meaningfully replace an important connection. Maybe if you did multiple sessions/week
