I begged,repeatedly.
Asking you,please stay.

7 years ago today,I kissed your head.
I cried,tears burning my heart,
Asking you,please hang on.

7 years ago,I held on tight
I howled in pain,
Please don’t let go

7 years ago today,your heart stopped,Ma.
So did mine.

How do you stop believing in something that made you happy for the longest time?

How does your mind forget when your heart recognizes only her?

How do you let go of someone who had chosen not to hold on?

Your life. Without her.

Pain. This pain.
Unyielding.
Your life. Unforgiving.

She slips.

You hug tighter.

Breathe.

She falls.

You catch faster.

Repeat.

She cries.

You hold on longer.

Think.

She leans.

You kiss deeper.
