With thundering inevitability, I'm covering FRANKENSTEIN (1931) and BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) on The Evolution of Horror. There was so much to be said about these, the most classic of all classic horror films, that @mikemuncer.bsky.social had to split the episode into two! Here's part one...

That's not a message of hope as such, but it does rather validate my view that auditions are not the way forward.

Waiting to hear back about a self-tape (agony), I today worked out that, in my thirteen years as an actor, I've had ten successful auditions. And only eight of those resulted in actual jobs. If I didn't create my own stuff and occasionally get asked to do things, I'd have no career at all.
