While visiting friends near Sheffield, we stumbled upon Pemberley, aka Chatsworth house. Alas, Mr. Darcy was not in residence at the time. Nevertheless, It was worth seeing with our own eyes how vast such an estate is. You don't get a sense of that from the books or the movies.

In the context for my new aeronautics-related project, we are going to need some flight data to train our ML algorithms. And it needs to be acquired at a reasonable cost. So, we strapped a small GPS on a model plane and went flying. It seems to work nicely. Necessity is the mother of invention!

We released a large multi-view people-tracking dataset. We used 25 partially overlapping cameras placed over more than 400 meters. We acquired 24'000 images per camera, with full calibration data. scout.epfl.ch #VideoSurveillance #PeopleTracking #ComputerVision

In an upcoming MICCAI paper, we model the heart as interdependent SDFs representing a distinct anatomical component. By enforcing proper contact between adjacent ones, we ensure that they define anatomically and topologically correct structures. arxiv.org/abs/2307.08716

To refresh our ideas before the conference, we went snorkeling in 3C amazingly clear water. With enough layers under our dry suits, we weren't cold. Putting one's head in the water is unpleasant initially but that passes quickly.

I have been invited to give a keynote at SCIA'05 and we took advantage of that to tour Iceland. The midnight sun yesterday night was spectacular! I highly recommend it.
