Can anyone recommend a specifically Episcopalian blog article (or similar) about blessing objects? I'm thinking around the subject at the moment. ⚓

Big day for me yesterday! I wore a cassock and surplice for the first time. Officiated at Sunday Morning Prayer for the second time. Still can't really believe I'm doing this! 📕

Proud of @robminchin.bsky.social for preaching on bread as part of lay preacher training. He linked it to Lammas (coming on Friday), Christ the first fruits from the dead, and sharing the bread of our faith when it'd be easier to just not. Really well co-ordinated hymns as well!

Very well! My delivery was fluent and people engaged with the content. Today, though, I'm deep down exhausted.

Landmark day for me tomorrow: it's my first time preaching at a Sunday service. I'm doing three services at three locations, with the third a slightly different format. I'm up for the challenge, but it's also daunting. Prayers appreciated! ⚓

My church is working on safe church issues around streaming services at the moment. There is some mention it in TEC's model policies, but more information about putting it into practice would be helpful.

Biden Commutes 37 Death Sentences Ahead of Trump’s Plan to Resume Federal Executions (Gift Article) Those affected by the president’s action on Monday are still subject to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. Three men will remain on federal death row.

Biden has commuted almost all federal death row. This is indeed a good day to do the Lord's work. I'm thankful to so many religious leaders and justice advocates who helped make this possible. I pray for victims' families, knowing that wishing for death is not a healing course.
