gonna be real with yall i started OCtober and then got so depressed and anxious over bad things happening irl that i couldnt continue it past what i posted
but tbh thats just part of being an artist.

day two ended up just being a pair of sketches for my girl Mira! she's a minecraft oc, i love her

anyway here's the thread for that. day one and two are finished!
day one is my boy Killian! in his main story, he's a zombie apocalypse survivor that is helping make a cure by kind of being the test person for it. he's now stuck being partially turned!

I'm doing oc-tober but with my own rules and such! no form, we die like lightbulbs. basically: just draw an oc every day, even if its just a sketch. oc will be picked via Wheel of chance or just feeling that oc really hard that day, basically just feel it out and do what you can type of thing.

if these people would put this energy toward calling or emailing their representatives or going after the people actively making life hell for the groups they want to see represented, maybe things would actually get better instead of worse.

and then it becomes a whole thing of shaming current fans out of it until people are too scared to say they like something, and then the creators lose fans and money and the will to keep making the thing and its so fucking sad.

i've seen time and time again how all it takes is enough people to hate you enough and more people to be too lazy to look into things to ruin someone's career forever. a creator makes one tiny misstep or even just doesnt include what someone else wants and the next thing you know - its done for

honestly yeah, seeing how people have gone after creators for not making representation in the Exact way they want it to be made is why I gave up on making my comic before I even published the first page.

LOGICALLY i know i could just like. stream myself drawing to prove it but after watching a number of artists nearly get ruined because of stuff like that i am TERRIFIED

i have a weird, genuine fear that someone is going to accuse me of using AI for art and im not gonna be able to properly prove i don't because I don't like. record myself drawing and don't use a program that does.

I am throwing in the towel a day or two early on artfight because I! have a lot of pain in my hands right now. I had a lot of fun this year despite some of the outside of AF life things that happened and I drew more than last year!! So I consider that a win :3

even small things like farmer having seeds and skills in planting, or even choosing that your character came from money so you start out with base stats but some extra starting money! i think it would be fun and add to the character a bit

i know the in game lore is that you're found when they reach out to an adventurer guild, but theres a lot of types of adventurers. miners could come with a copper pickaxe and mining skills, fighters / mercenaries with a sword and fighting skill. mages maybe having a spell already unlocked -

i think a fun thing to add to fields of mistria would be like. a character past type thing? where before you start the game you have a list of things you can pick from that determine starting stats or items, like how you can do that in core keeper!
