I actually personally think ST:A has the best control scheme out of the entire series, but that's preference of course. I loathed the original KF1 controls but got used to them, I feel like it's like that. A couple hours into the game it'll feel okay.

Since each weapon has 4 attacks instead of just 1, there are unfortunately simply not enough buttons on the controller. Using something like Joy2Key, you could reconfigure the controls to be like King's Field, and then use the right thumbstick for the other 3 attacks, if you're so inclined.

Yeah during emulation there is strange artifacting. Are you using PCSX2? If so, in the settings, disable Depth Emulation, and enable Manual Upscaling Fixes. Changing these two fixes completely fixed the artifacting for me.

There's an alternate control scheme which is way more accessible imo. Left thumbstick moves and strafes, right thumbstick controls camera, and triggers dictate which attack you use. You can change the control scheme in the options menu and this one is the best one imo.

My game has been described as "King's Field but you took 100 Benadryl", haha.
