Comics in general is an excellent media for hiding little details in the art or the dialog.

In a movie or animation you might miss things because of timing, but a panel you can analyze as long as you like.

Even a shift in characters demenour or the way a speech bubble is drawn could be a clue!

If anyone else wants an Adobe Animate alternative, I can’t recommend Moho enough. It’s affordable, it’s efficient, it’s been used in feature films from Cartoon Saloon like Wolfwalkers, and the best part…NO Ai whatsoever.

yes this is posted at almost 5am bc the words "tumblr is basically just 4chan now" haunted me for a good few days for me to finally accept like.. i havent thought abt tumblr validation related assumptions in ages n ive gotten so much more in tune with my creative slash actual work in the process

A boy through several photos lives in the shadow of his father, blood splatters a wall as he drives his fist into another, before gaining praise by said Father. A reddit post reads, "Why the absolute hell did you think that was a good idea? A goldifhs can't survive in the ocean let alone salt water. What was wrong with the tank you had it already in?" A reply reads from the OP, "He was supposed to be the only one." From the photo of praise, blood drains and floods into the same child now an adult deep in the blood. The box slowly crumbles as the man drowns in the water. Another reply to the reddit post. "Even if the saltwater hadn't instantly killed it, you've basically thrown it into an enviornment it can never succeed in. It's been hand fed and cared for its whole life and would just wash along the shore. Are you out of your mind?"

A reddit post on r/Aquarium from the man who posted the original goldfish post. "Bowl goldfish seems unhappy with aquarium. Title. Originally was keeping him in a bowl but switched to an aquarium thinking he'd be just fine, but obviously still unhappy. He waits a long time to eat, he lashes at the smallest things, and most of the time won't leave from hiding. The man surrounded by water and small shapes of goldfish looks down to the ground, hands extended. A reply to the original post. "Water change. Goldfish are usually really messy and can bring lots of gunk with them." A reply to the reply from OP. "He's clean enough" with several down votes. Shoes wait along a closed door, the room is dark. A reply to the orighinal post. "Make more room, even in the largest of aquariums goldfish will get agitated if they can't explore or find somewhere comfortable." OP replies, "He doesn't want to come out." to more downvotes. A person in a hoodie stands along an open doorway, hands behind their back as they look through it. A sun sets behind them. A reply to OP's original post. "Was it with other goldfish? It could be lonely." OP responds, "One came along. They're doing just fine."

A man stands wet, washed and dreary as he looks up at a clouded sky. The waves recede along his body. A reddit post from someone simply titled "502" on r/LifeAdvice. "What happens if you do something you regret? What do you do? When you can't take it hback and weren't made for this life and the life you were is gone? You've done horrible things all for the purpose of somehting that will never come to be and never should have been? What if you have to live with so much so horrible it makes you never want to walk forward again?" And a single reply. You'll still have to try.

If you don't love your comic you can't expect anyone else to. So get that notion of "Cringe" out the door, bury any thoughts of "For the Audience", douse the flames of "Someone else already did this--" and go forth with all the WILD AND UNTAMED love to INVIGORATE your craft

Rpgmaker.net coming back online is very significant, as a whole generation of 2000s and 2010s indie games was contextless and nearly lost without it.

It's wonderful to see it back in action. Hopefully to stay!
