This is not something I want to do, but as someone who was food insecure for a long time, here are some ways to get the most out of what you can get.

It has been a busy few days, but I've slowly been working on this giant sea monster. Tiny shiny friends for scale. 🧶

We need to be informed, not just so we know where to go and how to help. We also need it for our morale. For our endurance in this work. To see how many good people are working hard in small but significant ways that never make the news...we need to be reminded that we have friends everywhere.

Music features in both, but I don't just mean the featured music.
STORY tempo!
I do feel like the writers understand music and that informed their excellent sense of tempo, but the application goes beyond the music.

They're successful for a lot of reasons, but my middle-of-the-night take is that the quality their respective creators really dialed in on that made both Into the Spider-verse and Kpop Demon Hunters as irresistible as they are is tempo.

A comic of two foxes, one of whom is blue, the other is green. In this one, Blue and Green are walking. Blue listens intently as Green goes on talking as he talks, leading the way. Green: Once we get home, I'll read a book, weave two baskets, re-arrange the pantry, learn esperanto- Blue interrupts Green, who turns to listen. Blue: That's quite a list. Are you sure you're being completely realistic? Green takes a momentary pause from being cartoonish, being now depicted as a painstakingly detailed and shaded painting of a fox, with fur texture, whiskers and all. Extremely realistic Green: Of course. Returning back to normal, Green keeps walking. Blue follows, looking at Green with suspicion. Blue: How long did it take you to draw that gag? Green: A lot longer than I am willing to admit.

True story: the "protagonist" of my first-ever completed draft of a novel could have been tidily lifted out without disrupting the plot more than a ripple.

You live, you learn.
I learned a lot from that draft, anyway...
Like that I could draft a novel.

You never have to worry about bothering someone when commenting "I like your characters" or "I like your work." We love it. Fly agaric, these have got to be one of the world's favourite mushrooms, so bright and colourful, they stand out in any landscape and are so often associated with fairy stories.

I saw a lot of the locations for the first time in the game, and then sought them out after! I first played shortly *after* I went to Denver and Colorado Springs for the first time, so I hope I can visit those places again one day.

I love things that spark my curiosity!

Maybe you're not to the place yet where things are working out like that, but it doesn't mean it can't happen. Hang in there.

I wasn't. I'm not. But I'm in awe at how my weaknesses & strengths have worked together to position me to do as much as I've been able to lately.

The uniquely awesome thing about HZD is how much it mirrors real locations. They rearranged where certain things are on the map, and obviously made some other major changes like putting a jungle where a desert is today ("the Jewel" in the Sundom), but certain features are faithfully recreated.

Marble grave delimited by a low iron fence. It is enriched by decorative bronze details (a lamp and various vegetal motifs) and by a statue, also in bronze, of a sad woman, in period clothes, kneeling with her elbows leaning against the grave.
