I live In Tower Hamlets, London - around 70% of households don't have access to a car.
We do, of course, have access to one of the best public transport networks in the UK (if not the world) - but that doesn't stop the 30% with cars causing chaos and carnage.

Part of the reason a lot of drivers are convinced that cyclists are constantly breaking the law is that those drivers neither know nor care what the law is.

I bet the various far-right fools wanging on about public transport safety don't use it and work for think tanks which have spent the last 50 years pushing fossil fuels and private cars as transport solutions.

Just think of it as evolution in action.

If you're doing 34 in a 30, then you're exceeding the speed limit, and deserve to rack up speeding point.

50 in a 30 is a premeditated act that puts lives in danger - it should result in instant disqualification.

Anyone driving whilst disqualified should serve the balance of the disqualification period in prison.

I'm always astonished when people manage to avoid a ban because without the licence they will lose their job etc. Surely if that's the case you'd do everything possible to avoid points, and getting lots demonstrates you really don't care.

If losing your licence is going to cause "hardship", then the time to consider that is BEFORE driving like an a55hat.

You should lose your licence after 6 points, rather than the current 12. You should also have to take your test again to get it back after the ban ends. We've got too many shit drivers on the roads, this might go some way to getting rid of them.
