A big win for people more outraged by a silly edit at the BBC than by a man impeached by Congress for literally inciting an insurrection being back in the White House. Pathetic.

It turns out that Darren is himself quite the expert at letting people down.
Much like the rest of his party.

Surely we should be having a permanent green for pedestrians and motorists should have to leave their car and press a button to cross it.

Unless there's an unbreakably valid safety reason why not, all button-operated pedestrian crossings should activate the lights in pedestrians' favour instantly when pressed.

Campaigning for inclusive cycling, Wheels for Wellbeing Wheels for Wellbeing is an award-winning charity supporting disabled people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the benefits of cycling.

No idea why I know this, possibly via, Campaigning for inclusive cycling, Wheels for Wellbeing share.google/kdLfdOhuYRpu... but more people can cycle than can walk.

I live In Tower Hamlets, London - around 70% of households don't have access to a car.
We do, of course, have access to one of the best public transport networks in the UK (if not the world) - but that doesn't stop the 30% with cars causing chaos and carnage.

Ah here it is. Whenever you see a council rolling out the red carpet to car-dependency and making it really hard to walk or cycle, you can always be sure they've declared a climate emergency and patted themselves on the back for a job well done www.carmarthenshire.gov.wales/council-serv...

Millions to receive free electricity in 2026 thanks to Australia’s solar boom | TechCrunch Australia now has so much solar power that the government will require utilities to sell customers free electricity for three hours per day.

Australia’s solar revolution is paying off: starting July 2026, millions will get up to 3 hours of free electricity daily thanks to surplus solar power. A major step toward equitable, renewable energy for all.πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

People often push the disabled to take risks with our health.

They think if it’s already β€œthat bad” who cares if it gets worse

We care.

Our baselines mean everything to us.

Whatever limited function we have left is always worth protecting.

You don’t get it until you get it.

Australia has so much solar that it's offering everyone free electricity Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Could Rachel Reeves break a 50-year taboo by raising income tax in her Budget? It is more than half a century since a chancellor chose to put up the basic rate of income tax.

I think a bigger shock will be if Reeves and Labour increases fuel duty.
It's the new taboo.

Better buses could put 171,000 more people within 30 minutes of Newcastle Think tank Centre For Cities estimates that plans to make buses more frequent and line up better with rail or Metro timetables could add Β£1.8bn a year to the North East economy

So lets do it, and at the same time introduce a congestion charge for cars to encourage people to leave cars at home to free up space for better bus services.
Oxford has done it, why can't Tyneside?

Part of the reason a lot of drivers are convinced that cyclists are constantly breaking the law is that those drivers neither know nor care what the law is.

I bet the various far-right fools wanging on about public transport safety don't use it and work for think tanks which have spent the last 50 years pushing fossil fuels and private cars as transport solutions.

50 in a 30 is a premeditated act that puts lives in danger - it should result in instant disqualification.

I'm always astonished when people manage to avoid a ban because without the licence they will lose their job etc. Surely if that's the case you'd do everything possible to avoid points, and getting lots demonstrates you really don't care.

31.10.2025 09:35 β€” πŸ‘ 13    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

No exceptions.
If losing your licence is going to cause "hardship", then the time to consider that is BEFORE driving like an a55hat.

02.11.2025 21:00 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

You should lose your licence after 6 points, rather than the current 12. You should also have to take your test again to get it back after the ban ends. We've got too many shit drivers on the roads, this might go some way to getting rid of them.
