New video footage shows a US Tomahawk missile hitting an IRGC facility in Minab, Iran, on Feb 28, showing for the first time that the US struck the area. The footage also shows smoke already rising from the vicinity of the girls’ school, where 175 people were reportedly killed, including children.

A review by @ntabrizy.bsky.social and myself of post-strike videos, images, satellite imagery and mapping data shows that a civilian park hosting an EMS base in Shiraz was directly hit, killing at least 20 and raising questions about mistaken targeting.

“That’s what’s most disturbing here. I mean, it’s targeting 101,” Bryant said.

U.S. Central Command published airstrike footage in the days preceding the Shiraz strike. It confirmed the U.S. carried out strikes in the city on March 2 at Shahid Dastgheib International Airport and again on March 5 — the same day Zibashahr Park was struck.

“It’s a bit inexplicable. The only identifiable military target wasn’t struck, and it’s not clear why this group of vehicles and people would be considered a military or legitimate target,” said Adil Haque, a professor and law of armed conflict expert at Rutgers University.

Of the 20 people reportedly killed, the human rights group Hengaw identified two medical technicians: Hooshan Tork Alia and Sajjad Charkhandeh. Photos show EMS emblems on their uniforms. A third medical worker, Hassan Mohammadi of the Health Surveillance Unit, was also identified on X.

We shared the visual evidence with Wes Bryant, a former USAF Special Ops targeting expert and former chief of civilian harm assessments at the Pentagon. He said the damage suggests a 2,000-lb bomb and two 500-lb munitions, and that misses of ~200m with precision weapons would be “highly improbable.”

The equation between protecting lives in ‘the East-European buffer zone’ and annihilating them in the Middle Eastern kill zone certainly makes some Western values explicit, including the context into which several of the ‘allies’ immediately offered to send their armies to ‘help.’ Message received.

As this investigation says, the theory of a misfired Iranian missile holds no ground: it wouldn’t have been able to cause such precise, targeted damage across several buildings at the naval base.
