My favorite Mexican place used to put lima beans in their chimichangas & nestled inside flavorful chicken & crispy fried dough was fiiiiiine, but still felt like a betrayal.

I have found a specific niche for black-eyed peas where I enjoy them, but they were right there with lima beans when I was a kid. My dad liked them, so my mom would empty a can into a bowl & microwave them, the end. Luckily our house rule was "You only have to try one real bite."

4am parenting thought: I never cooked Lima beans for my kids. I sent them out into the world completely unprepared for Lima beans.

I'm sorry this was such a shit show babe. I'm still really proud of you for showing up. The majority of people don't even go through the motions of pretending they're going to show up.

Fyi, I recently made some pin/button pennants that hang on the wall for my adult kids to get their pins out of boxes & they look really cool! Don't have a pic atm, but there are similar ones on Amazon/etc that come in a 4 pack for cheaper than I made ours.

I wouldn't really care if the dishwasher ran 2 or 3 times to get that many dishes cleaned, but the "yeah I did the dishes" then the sink is still full & necessary items aren't clean when it's time to cook/serve is a lot of mental bandwidth for the person who cooks all the meals. Tetris that bitch!

In one dishwasher load 1 plate & 1 saucer 9 white bowls 3 of blocked by camera emoji's large cereal bowls 2 small mixing bowls Small strainer Square egg pan 4 glasses One large coffee mug One measuring cup 3 large utensils, 2 large knives One lunch container, 2 lids One large cutting board One large glass pyrex container Silverware Get good, noob!

I know people make fun of the person who loads the dishwasher "correctly" but there really is a way to do it BETTER. Sent this petty flex to my kid lol

Normally I don't care how chores get completed but a perpetually half full, gross sink isn't "doing the dishes" even though some dishes got done

Pretty exciting for a chicken retirement home of 6 year old COVID lockdown hens! I went out to see who was making the ruckus & where they were laying & all 5 hens were clustered around her in the greenhouse like fretful doulas.

Yes & my mother would just pour them from a can into a bowl & microwave them. That was the end of their prep & I haaaated them. Just 100% Lima bean essence.

I don't know that I've ever gone "wow what a delicious Lima bean!" Somebody must be making them delicious somewhere?!

Can we schedule celestial events for good weather & more convenient times of day?

I ended up going in a MX direction, did an enchilada bake (with layers, I didn't have it in me to roll individual things. Tonight I served it over refried beans with an over-easy egg on top.
