I know there’s so much worse going on, but this just kinda hurt on a personal level. I have loved Catherine O’Hara my whole life. This was one of my favorite roles she did - I even dressed as Lydia this past Halloween.

It’s just an extra thorn.

I haven’t been on any social media much. I haven’t had much to say. I’ve been working in my own way, to do what I can do.
I had been thinking a lot about Meip Gies.

I love how just ordinary the Kent’s are. I love the supporting cast. And o love how well they balanced Superman’s struggles with his hope and compassion. It reminded me a lot of why I love “My Adventures With Superman.”

There are parts of the film that are a little clumsy (the identity of the Hammer at the end is really out of left field with no set up) so I kinda see the B+, but it’s a fun, fine film. And it makes its points gracefully.

Nathan Fillon was so entertaining as Guy Gardner even if I had no damn idea what a green lantern was, I still would have loved every silly second.

I really love house of leaves, but I really had trouble getting through the Johnny footnotes part of the story, because I loathed the character.
Poe did a companion album “Haunted” that is also excellent.

I’d watch it.

However the scene where 30 people in a room stand and watch him literally start tearing the world in half, and no one does a damn thing to stop him- peek realism.

New Superman movie was pretty decent, but there was some pretty unbelievable plot devices in it such as the American Media using journalism to fight a power man billionaire, and said powerful billionaire facing justice at the end for his crimes.

I know his story is vital to the Nadavidson story part, and everyone I try I’m like “This time I will make it through everything” and then I just hate Johnny so much I can’t do it.

Okay true confession. I love this book (mostly) I love the Poe album that goes with it. I go back and reread it every 5 years or so, but I’ve only ever made it through about 50% of the Johnny footnotes part because I lothe his character.

Last one: Pirates of Darkwater gone far too soon. This was my favorite along with Gargoyles and BTAS when I was a teenager.

My country is a dumpster fire, but I am pretty glad I live in my state. It’s still a dumpster fire. But a much more controlled one.

Of course, it feels like the end of days lately. Maybe it is. So I suppose it’s a fitting mood. You know we had our go. Let the wolves have it all, they’ll do better than we did.

I’ve been listening to one of my favorite Anime soundtracks recently. Wolf’s Rain was such a weird ass show that just hit all the right buttons for me, and Yoko Kano’s soundtrack is just perfect for it. I still waltz in the kitchen to Valse De La Lune.

Had an incredible night of 1960’s surf rock and cosmic horror in Belmont Ma with Green Door Labs. Their Cthulhu Luau was as much fun as Club Drosselmeyer.

I always get a kick out of being able to interact as a fictionalized version of myself- the librarian.

I am a librarian in America and your dad taught me Militant Decency. His work gave me the blueprint to take my anger at the injustice of the world and use it productively, in the service and defense of others. I’ve needed it a lot lately being what I am and where I live. I hope I honor his lesson.

Been listening to a lot of Red Hot Chili Peppers lately, especially stuff off one hot minute which was a huge album to me in my late teens.

Good lord “My Friends” hits different at 47 than at 18. And it hard on me back then….

Today I am hosting a Spring Dinner for the witches and weirdos in my life. That’s the only resurrection I need: the resurrection of my faith in human beings. And it happens every time I see the folks I love.
