This obviously doesnโ€™t apply to books with really blatant racism, homophobia, things like that. I know Iโ€™ve said โ€œI really hate this book Iโ€™m readingโ€ but I dunno, having written my own now, I never want to publicly name and bash a title/author I disliked if it was just for personal reasons.

It makes me really sad seeing people making whole posts about โ€œbooks I hatedโ€ and things like that. Trust me, I know better than anyone that not every book is for everyone, but someone worked really hard on that and was proud of it. :(

The Highs and Lows of A Language of Dragons by S.F. Williamson - Reactor A review of S.F. Williamsonโ€™s new young adult fantasy novel

S.F. Williamson's YA fantasy The Language of Dragons is pitched as Babel meets Fourth Wing; while there's enough action and worldbuilding to keep a dragon entertained, readers hoping for a little more nuance might still be waiting for a spark:

Dystopian Novels See Post-Inauguration Sales Boost Sales of 'Farenheit 451,' '1984,' 'Animal Farm,' 'The Handmaid's Tale,' and 'Parable of the Sower' all posted large sales gains following President Donald Trump's return to the White House. Two titles...

I donโ€™t think this is necessarily surprising. I re-read The Hunger Games trilogy and read Parable of the Sower for the first time in January, and the dystopian settings are eerily similar to the world weโ€™re living in now.
