They do, obviously! π My two (also a black cat and a tabby) do the same.... or play chase across the bed at 2am before rumbling off down the hall

15.11.2025 19:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Lovely! and good luck! May the presence of AI be minimal (unless you allow that kind of thing, in which case it won't be the time-waster it's becoming for me)
15.11.2025 19:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The colour of the waters of WhakaraupΕ Lyttelton Harbour. That colour changes, but they are all lovely. Sometimes D'Urville Island, sometimes Manu Bay, sometimes RΔrangi [if we are going with the Dulux paint colours π ] www.dulux.co.nz/colour/greens/
15.11.2025 06:55 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In NZ it basically means 'not cheddar'! Thinking of the wonderful array of cheeses I had in Burgundy. Last year Ella and I had a cheese Advent calendar and it was excellent
14.11.2025 03:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yep! The border collie/bearded collie of my childhood learnt the same thing.
My current tabby cat has also learnt the word 'walk'!
No food restrictions or things I can't eat. If I were to think about ideal food gifts they would probably be:
1. Interesting cheese (but logistics in shipping/storing perhaps?)
2. Coffee beans/ground coffee from quirky small producers - the stronger the better.
3. Interesting spice mixes.
Signed up again! After the year that's been spreading a little joy seems more needed than ever

I live with two cats a dog and a rabbit. The cats are my favourites (found abandoned on the side of a country road aged five weeks), but the dog is very cute. The rabbit is a bit evil. Photo of a happy Maisie and my camera-averse teen
13.11.2025 19:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"Woo hoo" says Nicky, "look at us helping increase competition in the supermarket sector"... what exactly did she do?
Also great for Auckland, Waikato potentially... and the rest of us?
I didn't sit through but saw soundbites from it on the news.

11.11.2025 18:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What has Peeni Henare got to say? Would prefer he was speaking for Labour's MΔori caucus (or Willow-Jean Prime)
11.11.2025 00:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Would prefer Peeni Henare speaking for the MΔori Labour caucus than Willie Jackson
11.11.2025 00:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A tabby cat sleeps on her back on a pile of pulled weeds, surrounded by long grass (also weeds, yet to be pulled). She looks very relaxed, with her big fat tummy exposed to the world and her back legs akimbo
My feed this morning is so depressing this morning - all our useless government doing dumb stuff, racism, climate change and Trump.
So here is my happy fat cat Maisie, helping me weed the garden.
Yeah after I posted I realised he probably was fell away in the last couple of laps
09.11.2025 22:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Older white woman... I'd say 60ish? +/- 10 years :)

09.11.2025 19:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0You'll be in good company! Last time I took the train to Featherston the woman sitting opposite me was writing poetry :)
09.11.2025 17:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I always find public transport in WLG pretty easy compared with Chch. Very easy to get to airport once you get to Central Rail Station - Airport bus goes from nearby. Goes about every 15/20mins
09.11.2025 05:24 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Also a long held Lincoln tradition! And I'm sure still available ;)
09.11.2025 01:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ha ha - small world! I'm back living in Lincoln now - very different from your dad's day (but the fish and chips shop is still there)
08.11.2025 23:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Indeed. I hear alot from them. Having said that, there are quite a few Luxon-style Christians about these days, as seen during Covid - entitled and self-serving antivaxxers (like my sister and BIL)
08.11.2025 23:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ah cool. That's a lot of potatoes! If he ever ate fish & chips during his time here (our only takeaway delicacy except Hillyers Pies) I probably served him :)
08.11.2025 23:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes, it seems odd for a self-proclaimed devotedly Christian male to not follow one of the basic tenets of his Christ.
08.11.2025 23:10 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Having grown up in Lincoln I can confirm that boiled potatoes (homegrown) with butter was a big part of my upbringing. When was your dad here?
08.11.2025 23:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's a bit cute
05.11.2025 19:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0He was never labeled a good one by me! Saw him speak early in this term; came across as privileged (part of the Carter family dynasty) and not very knowledgeable of his then-brief (tourism)

31.10.2025 00:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Was trying to find information about pass rates and it seems at some point around 1984 they started scaling so at least 50% passed. Found this interesting but depressing piece paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/periodicals/...
29.10.2025 22:23 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0This was 1983. We were always told it was scaled so 50% failed. I've read others saying the same thing so always presumed that was true?
