Something I end up saying to people a lot is “there’s no law, only enforcement.” In years past it has seemed to strike most people as a dark joke or too pessimistic but I just think it is a good, succinct explanation of how the system actually works

To be clear, the NLRB is an independent agency and NOT under the Dept of Labor … for now. But yes, Musk is big mad at the NLRB so I anticipate they will be USAID’d in 3…2…

Right back at you, my sibling in public service. Contractors have historically had it so much worse without civil service protections. Now it seems we’re all in the soup.

Anyway, I’m not sure I have any pithy summary. Things are really difficult right now. Let’s look out for one another.

Most federal employees aren’t looking for accolades or recognition. We do what we do because we are deeply mission driven and believe in public service. We just want to be able to do our damn jobs without threat or vilification. Suddenly we’re “targets.”

Just like every other citizen, most feds have beliefs and opinions and exercise our rights to vote. But we’re not partisan at work. We serve across administrations. We’re subject-matter experts. Wonks. That’s the genius of the career civil service.

And my fam isn’t special or unique. The entire federal workforce is made up of people who, like us, have put country over personal prosperity. (In fact, we’re more fortunate than many given our tenures, educations, and resources).

We have a situation where we MIGHT, and I do mean, MIGHT have four of Elon’s people blocked from the building.

Can we get press or a member of Congress down here? We’ve blocked them for two hours and they keep coming back and trying to go in.

I went to the argument and honestly, watching Gorsuch smirk for two hours nearly made me lose my breakfast. But I would like to know where Kagan will be taking her stand-up routine, because I will pay that two-drink minimum for sure.
