Julian Bashir feels like the obvious one and I think that's the only character that comes to mind for me at this moment.

For Halloween this year, scare your local CEO by pointing out that the Revenue Act of 1935, imposed a 75-79% progressive tax on the highest incomes.

A billionaire giving their money for leftist ideas is more believable somehow than a cop actually protecting people.

β€œIn the service of that project - and inflected with the assumption of civilizational and racial superiority - the Indian Act presumed to dictate nearly every aspect of Indigenous life, from its political structures and limitations, to the physical movement of Indigenous people, to the very terms by which Indigeneity would be defined. The extreme degree to which Canada would control the lives of Indigenous people under the Indian Act made it comparable to the later Apartheid systems in South Africa and Israel, and there is evidence to suggest that Adolf Hitler reflected with admiration on the Canadian system for Indigenous segregation and subjugation.”

Yesterday I learned Hitler seemed to admire and possibly took cues from Canadian policies towards Indigenous people and the Residential School system. Quote ⬇️ from β€˜Canada in the World: Settler Capitalism and the Colonial Imagination’ by Tyler Shipley page 64, which I’m reading now.

Genuinely disgusting for Hollywood AI firms to try and "recreate" the Magnificent Ambersons' ending without even the consent of anyone who worked on the film. Bibina, Orson's daughter, says it best: "Makes me sick to my stomach."

Performativly Irony poisoning your way to liberal fascism is a new level of postmodernism previously thought unthinkable. Jean Baudrillard not available for comment at this time, due to death.

White supremacists use this exact same analogy for Jewish people and practically any marginalized group.
My Confederate grandfather once said that "black people are now the real aggressors" and that *they* control the government. This is not a new mindset.

What do you mean it isn't racist? He just said that the UN is filled with Muslims that have politicized control over the government and that it's now anti-Semitic despite being a "neutral force" beforehand. How is that not White Supremacist talk?

Me holding the book: Abolish the Family: A Manifesto for Care and Liberation by Sophie Lewis.

Me holding the book: Abolish the Family: A Manifesto for Care and Liberation by Sophie Lewis.

Inside cover summary: β€œWe need to talk about the family. For chose who are lucky. families can be filled with love and care, but for many chey are sites of pain: from abandonment and neglect to abuse and violence. Nobody is more likely to harm you than your family.
Even in so-called happy families, the unpaid, unacknow-ledged work that it takes to raise children and care for cach other is endless and exhausting, It could be ocherwise.
In chis urgent, incisive polemic, leading feminist critic Sophie Lewis makes the case for family abolition.
Abolish the Family traces the history of family abolitionist demands, beginning with nineteenth-century utopian socialist and sex radical Charles Fourier, the Communist Manifesto, and early twentiech-century Russian family abolitionist Alexandra Kollontai. Turning her attention to che igos, Lewis reminds us of the anti-family politics of radical feminists such as Shulamich Firestone and the gay liberationists, a tradition she traces to the queer Marxists bringing family abolition to che twenty-first century. This exhilarating manifesto looks at historic rightwing panic about Black families and the violent im-posicion of the family on indigenous communities, and insists that only by chinking beyond the family can we begin to imagine what might come after.”

Robert A Heinlein was a borderline fascist who wrote sentences that were blocks of wood made of words. A lot of his more interesting ideas on gender and sexuality seem outdated now because other better writers built on those themes.
