Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities! This year's theme is disabled leadership shaping a more inclusive & equitable world.

The inclusion of people with lived experience in study design is often framed as an ethical issue-- but it is also associated with research quality. 🧪 #IDPD

Most conclusions are similar to what every person with chronic or longterm pain knows. Academic interest is low, and more research is needed. We have plans for widening the topic and interest next year.

I'll share them just when I'm on my break 😁 But our findings are for Serbia. This was a locally focused event.

Yes, the topic of pain, especially chronic pain is sensitive and on the verge of being taboo. We need more talk about it without being perceived as "whining about it". This year I was part of the science team that organised a round table on the perception of pain from different angles.

Even when you are familiar with the topic there is still room for improvement. We had two dynamic and informative days.
