Anyways I think there’s a monumental opportunity to insert the many domains of literary criticism into game writing and people just do not do that. Btw I am not an exception to the “criticism takes time” rule my writings aren’t anything special I fear.

A lot of these guys are young. Children or young adults, especially in video games discourse. Becoming a great critic takes time. Tim Rogers is a great critic, but he better be after 20 years!!! Games are such a young field of art, it makes sense we don’t have an array of excellent game critics.

This is not an exception to video game discourse, btw. You probably know a guy who refuses to watch anything black and white on principle. Enter the world of music criticism for a day and you’re immediately surrounded by people who make Backloggd joke reviews look professional.

I agree with this sentiment a lot and I’m reposting it here because I agree, but some people are using this to hurl superlatives and justify their “hot takes” and to suggest having a criterion closet of games.. Dude. I think some video game people literally do not know how to critique art.

If you want a great bullet hell, there's a very overlooked bullet hell game on Steam called Hellsinker. It's fantastic. It's the best bullet hell game I've played. And guess what, it came out in 2007!! No AI slop to be found.

If you're against AI art, buying Touhou 20 and bitching on bisskey about the AIslop only helps ZUN. Don't buy the game.

If you already bought the game, try refunding it like I did. There's a lot of copium going around this game. It's pretty fun but there's plenty of better games to spend $15 on.

-feels easier than the demo as expected but still quite hard. feels like the hardest normal 1cc since lolk.

Ep5 of City the Animation is absolutely incredible. Make yr brain hurt type shit.

CITY seems relatively underrated so far, especially as a follow-up to Nichijou. Loving it so much so far. Maybe people will catch up years later like they did with Nichijou's adaptation.

I've recently entered crunch time on a video essay on the golden age of Japanese dating sims (1994-1999) and the history of the genre surrounding it. It's taken a long time (everything's done by myself!!!), but I'm proud of what I have. August 21st. I think that's the final due date for it.

Today is my 24th birthday. Since I turned 18, I've usually been depressed on my birthdays. Most of the time I just work, and I don't ever feel any older. 23 was pretty bad though. Grad school garbage, job search hellhole, trying to fit into a new job. Things are slowing down again. Finally.
