People still want to commission something from a blacksmith or carpenter with a unique concept or idea, rather than going to a store and buying what everyone else has.

But let’s look at the situation from another perspective. With the advent of machines, blacksmiths, carpenters, weavers, and others didn’t disappear. And that’s because the demand for uniqueness never went away.

I’m not talking about artists who lost jobs to AI. That anger’s legit, like when machines took over during the Industrial Revolution. But I’m surprised more people aren’t drawing the obvious parallel. AI’s just a tool, like those machines were.

The truth is that this negativity hides fear. Fear that years of learning and sharpening skills have been wasted because AI has reduced it all to a simple prompt that can produce a "high-quality image."
