It’s early March and temperatures here in Virginia SHOULD be in the 40s for highs and 20s at night but we’re having a heat wave and we’ve been near 80ºF for a week now. Plants at the nursery are waking up too early…our avg last frost date isn’t until mid-April, sometimes late April 😬

We could be doing so much better; we absolutely have the money for a world class transit system. We have the money to make healthcare affordable if not free. Same with so many other issues. But we keep getting bogged down in culture wars.

The number of people who are apparently ok with spending insane amounts of time sitting in traffic every morning and evening is mind boggling, doing nothing productive. I mean, sure, I like to listen to podcasts during my commute too but I also want to just get the hell home and relax, have dinner.

Mind blowing the things we could fix if we simply made billionaires pay taxes instead of subsidizing their extravagant lifestyles. Because let me tell you, housing insecurity is not a great thing to go through.

How about this instead: abolish private insurance, tax the wealthy at 90% at least, close tax loopholes, and have the government cover people’s healthcare costs; oh and how about universal basic income while we’re at it?

Basic necessities shouldn’t be luxuries that only the privileged can afford.
