I promised some of my joys. I hope you’ll agree that getting an Honorable Mention in the 2024 Writer’s Digest Competition is worthy of a smile. This is for the first chapter of my novel-in-progress, a YA fantasy.

It’s been a year full of distractions. I’m here. I’m well…well, as well as I can be given the rough year. I plan to get active again. I plan to share my writing joys and struggles. If you’ve followed me, thank you! I’ll catch up with follows son.

I love my neighbors. They totally get me.

#introverthangover is real. I’m exhausted from last night’s event. Drove home this morning. Tonight, I have a two-hour Zoom workshop. Tomorrow, I teach all day and go to an Author’s Guild event. Friday morning I go for blood work. Saturday, I go to an event. Sunday, I will be in bed all day.

I don’t know. It looked fine last night. The storm last year did hit parts of Venice hard, but I don’t know which areas. I live over an hour north of Venice.

Easy for the person at the podium miss, unless you have eyes in the back of your head…but if you do have eyes in the back of your head, they must have been off duty 😴

A day of standing in lines and sitting in a room of a hundred-plus strangers. Nothing like reporting for #juryduty for a third time. The question remains: will I be selected this time or will I be sent home? Is the third truly the charm?
