Man, I totally underestimated the "plumbing" required to create a custom email sending feature that's inbox-friendly.
This is for popinvoice.com, so that our customers can email invoices using their own "From" address.

DeepSeek is now available in our open source web page summarizer Chrome extension, thanks to a new contribution.

Back on video again. Here's my latest post on whether AI is going to give us back some free time...

It's not complicated
02.02.2025 04:47 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hatching a new feature for bunni.ai...
30.01.2025 12:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yep. Looking at a few options, like Unstructured.
27.01.2025 10:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's ok for simple text extraction but it's outlived it's purpose now. We're beyond MVP now and will transition to something more sophisticated for extraction.
26.01.2025 08:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0o1-mini and o1 are now available on bunni.ai.
o1-mini is impressive. Same price as 4o but much more comprehensive answers.
I can't really see the use of o1 yet for document research use case but included it in anyway. Hoping to discover some neat uses from users!
Ah, no. I'm using Laravel/PHP on the backend, and that's using this library to extract text: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poppler...
But I'm migrating to a 3rd party service soon (possibly unstructured.io) so I can so do OCR.
bunni.ai
In the midst of adding a bunch of new features.
If you're trying to understand how a particular piece of software or feature is put together, here's a neat way of "reverse engineering" it in Cursor:
Include @codebase so that the AI has access to all of the code, and then ask it to summarise the flow, end to end.
It's not too late to sell your Nazimobile (if you own one).
21.01.2025 09:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is the simplest app I've ever built, that I (and some other users) still use regularly: websitemonitor.live.
I haven't even changed the Laravel placeholder logo on it!
And it's free to use - please help yourself.
The 2 parts I'm talking about:
08.01.2025 06:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0But whether you're building an "AI startup" or simply using AI to build your business, it's a really exciting time to be building.
08.01.2025 06:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Of course there are risks to solo founders, which I think are:
- Running out of money before finding product-market fit.
- Succumbing to a highly stressful endeavour.
- Tonnes more competition in a short space of time.
These 2 parts from Sam Altman's Reflections article gets me excited to be in the AI space.
Nobody really has a recipe to building a business with and for AI.
Which gives solo founders and small teams a huge advantage. We can move faster than incumbents...

Going to create lots of use case videos soon too.
Thanks Arunima.
100% agree on the AI voice. We had to use it because we didn't have a mic when launching the video! But yeah, it's time to replace it (we have one now!).

03.01.2025 03:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Pricing experiment on my Notion date automation tool seems to be working well.
Previous plan: $1 pay per use.
New plan: $5 for 3 days of unlimited use.
Result after 6 days: revenue has already exceeded the all-time total of previous plan.
Best testimonial ever?
Same person submitted the product feedback 3 times. Top one is the latest one.
So I can understand why Raiza Martin and her team decided to go build something on their own, after an incredible home run with NotebookLM!
Exciting times.
Nobody knows what next year, let alone "the future" looks like. Getting in now is the best way to shape it.
My foundational belief is that every human being deserves to earn a living independently and through their own creativity. And I believe AI is going to help us do that.
"the opportunity to go build on your own, try something new, during this exciting time in technology"
This is the same fire that burns inside me and plenty of other startup founders and indie makers.
Are you posting daily on bsky?

28.11.2024 12:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I used Cursor with its agent feature. And just kept prompting one feature after another.

I built a simple, complete, full-featured, POS system with a kitchen display in 4 hours. Without writing a single line of code myself.
It's just a generic reference to being able to surface bookmarks automatically (eg when we're writing about something, the relevant bookmarks appear) or by searching for it.
I have an old post about this: farez.substack.com/p/bookmarking
