Y’all. A friend went to the BIIM show in Vegas this wknd. Mike was back. For like 10 minutes. But he was back and on stage and they did this little bit and surprised him and made him sing for about 20 seconds. 😭

I think most of us were inundated with homework growing up. I think there certainly could be less of it. But I don’t think you can always prevent it, especially at certain ages (younger) or with certain subjects or topics (e.g., reading a novel for English class).

Ok, so what replaces it then? How do you verify that kids have learned and understood the material (without testing every day)? What about the kids who need the practice or extra time to learn it? What if teachers don’t have enough time to teach everything in class? Increase class time or school yr?

because I’ve been away from Sac since I was 16, I’m very used to not being able to watch the 49ers or Kings on TV. It’s happening now with my college team, they’re becoming “more accessible” but actually becoming less with all the splintering and loss of local access.

If I get pulled into streaming, it’ll be because of sports (like LP), but I’m not paying for 10 different platforms to show me only 10 games per season or one playoff game/series. That’s as illogical as it gets. It’s too fractured. I’m too team-centered now and I’ll just not watch. I also think that

I definitely did more channel surfing as a kid but that hasn’t stuck with me as an adult. I’ve also just stuck with network or basic cable (or HBO). I’ve had no interest in straying from that but I’m also an old/basic/simple like that. 🤷🏼‍♀️ And I’ve become more show/team specific as I’ve aged.

So, if a game was on Amazon Prime, you’d still get to watch it live via MLB? Or would Amazon Prime be considered a national exclusive?

Irrelevant now but I wonder how many more would sign on to Sunday Ticket if they allowed single team subs. Maybe too many would’ve dropped full for single team but the current situation just seems dumb (and they’re breaking it up across multiple platforms anyway).

But do you still get to watch that single team for ALL games even if half their games are on a different streaming platform? That’s my worry about NBALP (which also offers single team).

Yep! I’m still sitting here with cable waiting for everyone to come back. But also, I don’t have the interest for all the other streaming services, so I’m the outlier anyway. Just wish that someone would show up sooner rather than later. It’ll be a few years though, maybe 10, unfortunately. ☹️
