Everything you've been told about the 'unpopularity' of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods is a lie.

Meta Directors, Shareholders Settle Privacy Suit Before Board Members Testify at Trial With a settlement, current and former board members avoid having to take the stand in a lawsuit over their response to the Cambridge Analytica scandal.

At least some current and former Meta directors and several shareholders agreed to settle a lawsuit over the company’s response to the Cambridge Analytica scandal.

Not relative to the size of the U.S.

It would fit in a tiny proportion of a corner of Texas.

More solar energy falls on the Earth in an HOUR than we use in a year.

One solar thermal plant occupying 0.004% of the U.S could power the whole country.

The idea fossil fuels are necessary is perpetuated by those financially and politically invested in maintaining status quo.

Another misleading claim from the Telegraph.

Aerosols are associated with emissions that increase warming in the long-term, but in the short-term that provide a masking affect.

Cutting aerosols hasn’t increased temperatures, it has merely revealed what temps would be without their masking effect.

Trees transform the streetscape. You can find space for them even in the most constrained of urban spaces.

Thread by @jburnmurdoch on Thread Reader App @jburnmurdoch: NEW: income inequality in US & UK is so wide that while the richest are very well off, the poorest have a worse standard of living than the poorest in countries like Slovenia ft.com/con...

"UK and the US are poor societies with some very rich people."

France inequality is lower than the UK. The French have higher living standards and more disposable income.

U.K GDP is $5000 more per person than France, yet there isn’t a speck of litter on the streets or beaches of Brittany, where I’m holidaying, and, by 2026, the French will retire five years earlier than us.

Economic growth cannot solve the problems of our unwell society.

3/ …and delivered kilometres of segregeted cycleways.

I don’t need advice on decarbonisation strategy or practical policy implementation from people who think they can talk their way out the crisis we face.

The biosphere isn’t listening to your whataboutery, and neither am I.

1/ Having won two elections, I delivered the largest urban tree and depaving programme in the U.K, a publicly-owned energy company, eliminated 100,000 litres of diesel use annually, diverted 6,000 tonnes of waste from incineration to recycling annually…

3/ The denial of voter agency - particularly in the industrialised world - who not only choose to elect global warming deniers but actively engage in discretionary consumption involving the fossil fuels you decry is a cope.

For people like you, decarbonisation is always somebody else’s job.

2/ The simple fact is, it’s is easier to believe that life can go on as it has been without significant changes to our lifestyles - your belief that elimination of fossil fuels without doing anything about excess consumption can solve our problems betrays this - than it is to acknowledge the crisis.

1/ The fossil fuel industry did all of that, but it has been known amongst the public and policymakers since at least the work of Wally Broeker in the 70s what is causing global warming. Voters have more information than ever to dissuade them from voting for global warming deniers.

We repeatedly warned that global warming would rapidly make your world uninsurable, but you chose to listen to people who told you fairy tales.

We told you failure to act would be a life and death matter, but you voted for people to cut weather warning and emergency response services.

They run on biofuel from waste cooking oil; I used a similar fuel to displace 100,000 litres of diesel annually from Hackney’s waste fleet.

It’s a good bridge if you have ICEs at the beginning of the procurement cycle.

2003 European heatwave - Wikipedia

Relative to the long-term trend, June 2025 is the second largest deviation on record.

The only larger deviation came in June 2003, and preceded a series of brutal European summer heatwaves that killed ~70,000.

Hopefully, we are better prepared now.

Yesterday, I visited the stunning @UNESCO World Heritage site of Mont St Michel.

Naturally, while everybody was marvelling at this wonder of the modern world, I was taking photographs of the incredibly handsome and dignified timber-clad local buses.

The man who celebrated the removal of Streatham Wells LTN once again refusing confront the fact that he has spent years working with the likes of @andrewellson and anti-LTN front group @SocEnvJustice to increase the chance of kids being killed by rat-runners on the way to school.

Deplorable.

Thank you Jon. My kids cycle to school in one of your LTNs, and my wife is able to cycle to work thanks to another (and some in Islington as well). The people I see on bikes in and around London fields are no longer "cyclists" - it's anyone and everyone who wants to move around by bike.

Just in case you were wondering why nothing changes for the better in this country.
