Adding to my list of IRL side quests, I covered one of the semifinals of the National Amateur Cup yesterday! And boy howdy was it a humdinger of a match.

Tormenta kept their USL2 team after turning pro though. As far as I've understood, that won't be the case for Sarasota or Fort Wayne.

The recent teams that have moved to pro after qualifying and have fielded both pro and amateur teams in the ensuing USOC (Irvine Zeta 2024, Club de Lyon 2023) were local qualifiers and came in via NISA. My gut says USL isn't gonna operate that way when they have direct control.

I'd expect Sarasota Paradise and Fort Wayne FC to decline spots (or not be offered them at all by USL) as they're both moving to USL League One next year and would get a spot by default.

Me in 2025 and delayed, canceled, or re-routed flights, name a better combo.

Also of note since you mentioned Lapsley:
1. Bernd Schipmann has also been injured, but like Osmond, should hopefully be back soon.
2. Lapsley wasn't even our keeper against Tulsa - it was Owen Finnerty, who was signed only a couple weeks ago, so he didn't get a full preseason with the club.

I know you alluded to it at the end of the section on Forward Madison, but Mitch Osmond was injured in preseason and hasn't played a competitive game yet. He did play some minutes in our friendly Saturday so hopefully he'll be back in the lineup soon.
