Have you seen the movie _Julie and Julia?_ I really enjoyed it, and your novel reminded me of it, tho it was a different part of Julia and her husbands' lives.

$4.00 bottle, but I get your point :-) I actually prefer plain yellow mustard to Grey Poupon.

OTOH, the Roman Catholic church also believes there is no such thing as an "ex-Catholic." Someone no longer practicing as RC is "fallen away" or "apostate." So much for free will.

When I changed Christian denominations I described it as being "formally received into" the new one.

That's why I got an iPad--it's a good compromise between productivity and portability.

John Dickerson's _The Hardest Job in the World_ about the U.S. presidency. He wrote it by topic in the role, not in chronological order. Fascinating.

AT 11PM? And there aren't neighbors on the street with heavy objects and rocks? You live in a tolerant neighborhood.

@seananmcguire.bsky.social I've been behind on the Incryptid books, and am presently reading _Backpacking through Bedlam_. I just got to Sally's "We provide...leverage" and LOL'd in delight.

Some photos of the Old Man of Stoer as light broke through the clouds, illuminating the sea stack across the water. Shot from the northwest Scottish mainland.

I'm about to update to Win11, but I'll try to keep my existing Word. MS claims I will be able to download new free versions of OneNote & Notepad from their store afterwards. I hope so--I survive with those 2 apps, don't want to give them up, & can't back them up to Dropbox.

This is a really fun story for readers of all ages! And her Christmas party books will be re-read soon, as well. And will probably show up here from Diane for your purchasing pleasure in the near future.

Forgot another: The Martian. I watch it several times a year, tho the first narrator for the audiobook was excellent (not a big fan of Wil Wheton as a narrator).

It seems simultaneously ironic and sacrilegious. Someone should bury a plastic protected notebook there that explains what happened.

They may have gotten stopped by a bad traffic accident. Their boss may have forced them to stay to finish something. They may have a divergent sleeping schedule & their alarm didn't work. But they should try to get notes from another student (people approached me 'cause I took notes on my laptop).

My best friend in high school was a female SF/F fan, and it was due to her that I started reading SF/F. Haven't stopped 50 years later.
