Not dumbassery! In my experience, the need to get poetry permissions is a surprise to most authors. Sometimes you end up with sweet personal notes from poets who happily grant permission!

A designer friend is working with students on a memorial for a potter’s field in a cemetery in rural Montana. So many intersecting things to consider in such an undertaking!

I just learned that my mom, pregnant with me and living on Staten Island, took my brothers down to watch construction on the Verrazano Narrows bridge every day. They moved west before it was completed so I now take on the family legacy of loving all NYC bridges!
