My comedy writing course in Kingston starts Thursday. Still room for 2 more people. Maybe 3 if they're small.

Since I'm almost done Too Many Songs About Cats, I was thinking it'd be fun to put out a mini-album a year, so I went and listed all the comedy songs I've written that haven't be recorded on an Arrogant Worms album yet.
There are over 100.
And yet somehow I never feel like I'm doing enough writing.

I've been going through some notes from past comedy courses and found this one when we were doing a "bad idea" excercise.
"Air traffic controller pub crawl."

Mike let Chris and me come up with our own verses and I rediscovered some of the ones I wrote. I can't believe I didn't go with the one about Mars.
I'll perform them all during my Zoom concert Thursday when I do ALL OF TOAST.

I guess Klingon's aren't big on comedy.

Here's the first draft of I Am Not American from the album Toast. I'm not sure why, but this song has been getting a lot more play in the last half year or so.
I'll be singing all of Toast on Zoom this Thursday!

I have a great idea for a book. It's told from the narrator's perspective, all sorts of incidents and relationships and all that good stuff.
Then, right at the end, you find out the narrator is a cat.

My elevator pitch is:
Like the Sixth Sense, except he's a cat.
And not dead.

What was on the cover had nothing to do with what was on the cassette, which seems to be a five song demo we did after our first album, but before our second. I have absolutely no recollection of doing this. Some of them sound pretty decent, and History Is Made By Stupid People has alternate lyrics.

I've been moving these boxes with me for over thirty years, and for at least the last twenty it has been on my list to digitize them.
Well, I started today.
I started with what I thought was one of our first promo cassettes we sent around when we first started.

I have a couple of boxes of cassettes from the Arrogant Worms early days, from our recordings on campus radio, to some demos, to live shows, to god knows what else.

It took me back too!

In the history doesn't repeat but it sometimes rhymes category: here's a quotation from 1906 complaining about how students don't think anymore but instead just use the latest technology (library services) to just copy everything.
