Infographic titled βCleaner, Greener, Faster: Real Progress in Reducing GLA Group Emissionsβ. A line graph shows historic emissions in black and projected emissions under the current budget in green. The vertical axis is labelled βTonnes CO2eβ ranging from 0 to 2,000,000. The horizontal axis shows years from 2015β16 to 2029β30. Historic emissions decline from around 1,600,000 tonnes in 2015β16 to just under 1,000,000 tonnes by 2022β23. Projected emissions continue downward, reaching about 400,000 tonnes by 2029β30. A black label reads βEmissions cut by 52% from 2015 to 2026β. A green label reads βOn track for an 86% cut by 2030 with current fundingβ. Source: GLA Group Climate Budget 2026β27.
We have cut the emissions from the services we run by half since 2015.
Our climate budget puts an 86% cut by 2030 within reach.

Get down to see Hackney Central Library - itβs transformed. I left todayβs grand opening with a tear in the eye, feeling full of what a wonderful, rich, cultural and political place Hackney is to live. From Jazz Grantβs mural in collab with V&A Storehouse, to Knit n Knatter crewβs knitted boobiesβ¦

The haters online canβt fathom the reality: London is a global powerhouse that only gets better. Donβt believe the noise, believe the results.
Every time I write about measles, experts warn that polio is next.
But it's been so long since we had polio outbreaks, there are very few doctors who even know how to treat its long-term health issues. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

A cold, wet and windy evening in De Beauvoir but that's never stopped us from speaking to our residents! βΊοΈ

Fantastic news that this really comprehensive scheme has been formally signed off. It will transform a big part of Dalston. Credit to @sarahwoodberrydown.bsky.social - it isnβt an easy climate in Hackney right now but this is absolutely the right decision. π

Been a busy day in De Beauvoir for @joewalkeruk.bsky.social & I! Started the day at the monthly community cafe at St Peter's Church. Then headed off to speak to residents hearing about what's working and ideas for improvement. #JasAndJoe4DB your hardworking Labour Cllrs, working with residents πΉ

I'm honestly less mad at the President, who is clearly not well, that I am at his outriders and enablers.
They see messages like this and then, with straight faces, go on television or write op-eds retroactively constructing grand strategy justifications.
Pathetic.
Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

People have been trying to talk London down, but the evidence tells a different story.
Last year saw:
The lowest murder rate per capita since records began
The fewest murders of those aged under 25 this century
One of the lowest numbers of homicides for almost three decades
Last year, we reached the lowest per capita homicide rate in recorded history - not by chance, but as a result of our tough action on violent crime and our preventative approach.
Weβre on the right path. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
