My education role at The Sandbox Game was eliminated, so Iβm in project mode while I seek my next adventure.
Goal: Learn to leverage AI to design and develop a fun game about using AI. The game will teach what I learn. #GameBasedLearning
So much fun creating again! π

UX/UI is often overlooked in indie games, but hereβs why it matters:
players leave if menus frustrate them
good feedback loops = player satisfaction
clean design = better reviews

Traditional assessment focuses on products.
The assumption?
If we see a quality product, it means the student performed well on all related tasks.
Good Product = Good Process.
But that's far from true.
By focusing on only the final product, we lose the chance to offer more valuable feedback.

What techniques are used to attract and hold attention? 3. What lifestyles, values, and points of view are represented? 4. How might different people interpret the message? 5. What is omitted?

This infographic provides a beginner's guide to Bluesky, a decentralized social media platform. It covers key features like account creation, posting limits, content sharing options, customization, and the absence of ads and scheduling. It also highlights the importance of alt text, hashtags, and using the Sky Follower Bridge extension to find connections from Twitter.
Bluesky is a social site with familiar features and fresh possibilities for educators. #EduSky

Iβm excited to see the π feed is there already at least. Looking forward to when it starts populating. βΊοΈ
I was really missing bookmarks, so Iβm appreciative of this clever solution. Iβll gladly wait.
Youβre welcome to add me to any list you think I apply to.
Iβm mainly interested in connecting with creators.
My son is 13 and has been obsessed with game dev since age 5 thanks to Breath of the Wild. I want to help him learn from other creators here, too.
The Sandbox Game Alpha Season 4
As The Sandbox Gameβs Edu PgM, I help people learn to play, create voxel assets, mint them as NFTs, and build games without code (technical + creative edu).
I support devs, production staff, marketing, studios, partners, and community.
Here to learn, find cool games, and enjoy creative community.
I'm gonna make my own starter packs, 3 to be exact
1 for game dev
1 for art
1 for music

No, there's no bookmarks here. But guess what? If you comment πon a post, then add this custom feed to your account, you'll be able to view all of those posts in your own feed. Handy! And great thinking @jaz.bsky.social!

For a user though, this means that everything you do is very public β kind of like it was on Twitter, just more so, because there are fewer restrictions. Specifically, all of these are publicly accessible (even if they arenβt all displayed in the official app): your posts your likes the photos youβve attached to posts all the handles youβve previously used (you canβt delete those) the list of people you follow the list of people you block (!) the user lists and moderation lists (mute/block lists) that youβve created which moderation lists (yours or othersβ) you are blocking people with
And these things are private and known only to you (and the apps and tools that youβve explicitly granted access to your account): the people youβre muting (individually or through lists) the words, phrases, hashtags etc. that youβre muting your selected languages and other preferences your email address, birthday and phone number who invited you and who you have invited the moderation services youβre subscribed to the custom feeds that youβve saved or pinned one caveat though: the provider of the feed knows when you are opening it DMs are private between you and the person/people youβre chatting with, but theyβre not currently end-to-end encrypted, so the Bluesky team can theoretically access them. A fully encrypted version will come later.
Interested in privacy? A quick run-down of what's private and what's public here on Bluesky.

That could be ineffective. Theyβve admited to throttling external links.
I closed my old 3.8k follower account to prevent misuse of my data and created a new work account.
Tech evolved significantly since I joined Twitter, with new risks. Iβd rather build a new digital footprint with that in mind.
1/ With more users joining Bluesky, we know how important it is to identify which accounts are real. Users deserve confidence that the accounts they interact with are authentic.

For me, curiosity and practice led to naturally using some of these methods, and I valued the results more than my initial more basic prompts.
I look forward to trying out new things from this list!

Awesome! Persistence pays off!
I couldnβt get IT to set up accounts or get dedicated iPads. Some teachers even opposed my plans when I talked about game-based learning for pandemic socialization and education in 2020. I fundraised thousands to do it myself, but quit when in person was required.
Education seems to move so slowly at times - but if you told me 3 years ago every child in my class would have an iPad, weβd have Minecraft accounts and weβd be enjoying a diving contest as a stimulus for our journalism lesson - well I wouldβve laughed!
