File size and quality has no hard limit, just the (time) length. All videos will be encoded to supported formats and bitrate qualities, up to 1080p!

If there's issues with our planned video provider after release, we may have to adjust these limits as we rework the service.

Video is important and is why it'll be a launch feature of Fur. Auto playing videos (via setting), muted until interacted with, and a custom video player! The final length limit isn't fully decided, but there will be ways to increase it as well.

Polls creation and content highlighting/autocomplete for hashtags, usernames, and urls! Just some of the work done for the frontend.

We don't want to be another trickle-in "club", which is why 10 invites are provided and refreshed daily instead of weeks or months. If we notice things are going smoothly, the limit will be increased and eventually removed entirely. Curating a real furry-friendly community for furries is important.

At release of the web app, there will be an invite system to prevent spam/abuse and ease scaling. Initially invited folks will have 10 invites to give out right away. Those invited will have 10 invites on next refresh, which happens daily. A user can only have a max of 10 invites to give at any time

Plus multiple other Twitter-like features (turn off retweets, muting users, etc).

The web app release will basically be a progressive implementation of these features that are otherwise ready on the backend, letting people in sooner rather than later.

The project scope grew a lot.
- Multiple users per login + share access.
- Posts with images, polls, reply restrict, and visibility restrict.
- Reposts, quoted reposts, and "reactions" (like facebook)
- Bookmarking w/ "sets" (folders)
- Direct Messaging
- Custom feeds and user lists
- Tag muting

In the last week, a refactor to the backend was being done to ensure consistency and security. Still got sights on a "late 2023" release, which would be sometime next month.

The initial release will be a web app only with plenty of iteration based on feedback and then native mobile apps.

Working on getting the custom feeds up, similar to BlueSky but without the need to compile some crazy algorithm via runtime. This is a simple form creation process that allows you to specify the users and tags to get posts from; with conditions of either posts by users and tags or by users WITH tags

Polls with single or multi-choice voting and post media with tagged users also mostly implemented.

Just a few files for the backend, with much more to go. Finished up some heavy stuff like the feed generation and multi-user account creation under one login. A few other things like bookmarks, bookmark sets, auth flows (with 2 factor), and invite system also done.
