Ruling party has the key now. There will be impeachment voting at the National Assembly in 6 hours. Opposition needs 8 more votes to impeach President Yoon.

A detail in this timeline caught my eye: "The DP had raised concerns over reports of informal meetings among Yoon’s high school alumni in military and ministerial positions." South Korean president just declared emergency martial law and prohibited all political activities as the first order. Last emergency martial law was before my birth under Park Chung-hee regime in 1979. I am speechless and my head is all murky.

We find that #types of war experience matter. While general (family) war experience of the Korean War reduces refugee acceptance, the (family) experience of forced relocation (from North to South Korea) due to the division and war significantly enhance refugee acceptance.

We contribute to the growing literature on shared war experience (including family experiences) and #refugee acceptance by adding a hard case from #SouthKorea where relatively recent civil war experience of Korean War and high and pervasive hostility toward #refugees coexist.
