I was so freaked when this #ArtCommission came in! I've never done a figure drawing commission, but it turned out so much better than I expected. 🤩

why'd they name this app bluesky when Elders Scroll was right there

I hear this all the time from people that like a thing but don't feel like they can call themselves a nerd/fan. What is the bare minimum of fandom? What do you have to prove to yourself or someone else to consider yourself a fan of something?

The guest's fandom is music. She's been to hundreds of concerts, been on the road, and has thought deeply about the meaning behind the songs...but she felt she doesn't know enough to be nerdy about it. The host was so amazing at the depth of fandom & actively said "yes, that's your nerd thing!”

I was listening to That Nerd Thing podcast the other day. The convo was great, but I was surprised by how much the guest didn't think she was a nerd—by how much fans believe they have to qualify their fandom.

Audiobooks definitely count as reading (as well as listening). If you've played through an audioook, its perfectly fine to describe that as "I have read [x]"

All other forms of assistive software count as reading too 💙📚

people who use goodreads: jeff bezos owns goodreads and if you want a better alternative there is a black woman owned company called storygraph that you can use to replace it. you can transfer all of your data from goodreads to storygraph and have your mind be free of trumpie jeff bezos! win win. 💙
