Project! Just dyed these fisherman sandals a muted olive brown. Forgot to take a β€œbefore” pic, but it was the same yellow as pic 3 (with the exact same scuffs in the same places). I loved the original color, just not on me. I’m so happy with the way they turned outβ€”and that I didn’t mess them up!

I can safely say see it for her, but otherwise I feel it squanders its promise.

Pamela Anderson Is Quietly Revolutionary in 'The Naked Gun' Opposite a totally fine Liam Neeson in the franchise reboot, Anderson is a joy in every scene she's featured in.

She's got a face that has chosen joy: Pamela Anderson is the best thing in the new NAKED GUN. time.com/7306445/the-...

So how can it still be called the Environmental Protection Agency? Needs to change its name to the Environmental Exploitation Agency.

It is. I’ve been depressed about it all day because I truly do not want to feel sorry for this guy. But it seems that somewhere there was a rejection of joy.

Yes! Though I'd argue that much of -that- guy's art had an icky sentimental streak that's thankfully absent in these doodles, whatever we might make of them.

There's something in these drawings that's kind of whimsical and freeβ€”NOT personality traits I would ever associate with this individualβ€”and it makes you think about how people become what they are, and about what they might have been had the stars aligned differently.

'Clueless' Proved Amy Heckerling Was Brilliant. But It’s Not Her Only Stroke of Genius As Clueless turns 30, its filmmaker's Hollywood success can't be measured by the usual metrics of box-office returns of awards on a shelf.

CLUELESS (now turning 30β€”!) is great. But there are other reasons to sing the praises of its director, Amy Heckerling: time.com/7302138/clue...

It's a drop in the bucket compared with the Colbert firing, or the public broadcasting debacle. But the NYT's desire to "go beyond the traditional review" is appalling. By "the traditional review," you mean, like, an essay? Crafted with thought and care? You're sick of that? God help us.

Superman Is Punk Rock, After All James Gunn's 'Superman' lacks magic, but it gets one fundamental thing right about the least cool, but certainly greatest, of all the superheroes.

At last, I have acquired the circa 1950 Frank Rebajes articulated copper lobster brooch I have wanted forβ€”no jokeβ€”20+ years. Pic 3 is a postcard of the Rebajes store on 5th Ave, which he opened in 1942. Doesn’t it look amazing? Wish I had a time machine!

My mother, born in 1923, had the biggest lifelong crush on George Raft. She died in 2020, at age 97, his biography nearby on her table. Admittedly, by that point, she was reading the first four pages over & over. But she really loved him, and looking at this studio photograph, it's easy to see why.
