This plus the added push factor of Elon Musk; and the election marking a clear point after which a lot of people thought “enough is enough”. That’s my guess- though it might also be just pure luck.

I spent maybe 3 years of high school completely in love with him, and I’ve had a very soft spot for him ever since…

He hasn’t even read the book.

I just tend to reserve the nastiness for research that’s bad—rather than research I agree with and which is obviously attempting to make other research less bad as well.
