It's been a while since I have taken any pictures of myself, even though I wear viking clothing a lot more these days, so i thought I would post this throwback to 2022.
I no longer own that orange dress as i sold it to a friend who uses it a lot ❤️

My #bronzeage obsession continues. This time clothes pins/hair pins, no one seem to be completely sure which the big ones are (all bases on pictures from norwegian finds) #reenactment #historicalfashion

I have been toying with the thought of making a bronzeage look, so instead of throwing myself into a new period I made a wearable mockup in a fabric i have hoarded for 8 something years. Only problem is now i really wanna make a bronzeage outfit.

There is a lot of cool fashion stuff in history, and if you look at viking age and earlier a lot is zero waste! At some point I'm going to find a way to bring it into my modern wardrobe 😁

This is currently my absolute favourite vikingage dress. It is dyed with madder by me at a viking market and hand sewn by me. Viking reenactment has been pretty important in my realisation that I suit colours and that I really like reds and oranges.

Right? Some of them are second-hand, but about half is dyed by me, and I love that an amateur can get so vibrant colours! Really shows that most people would have access to at least some colour!

The past was colourful!
Today i have been sorting my #plantdyed yarn and made yarn cakes of some of the hanks,so I have at least one cake of all the colours I have, though some hanks are still in hank form, in case I want to overdye them.
(And please store your wool yarn in airtight boxes or bags!)

I'm a few years late to the sourdough party but 3 days ago I decided to make a starter, look at her! She hasn't gotten a name yet (the recepie says to name it on day 9) but hopefully she will give some good bread
(Currently need recipes to use the discharge dough)

Working on a commission today, made using what I call theatre seams. That means any long seems are done by machine but they are felled by hand to give an authentic look while keeping cost down for the customer. (I also do handsewn commissions ofcourse)

While I mostly do viking and medieval reenactment today, I actually started out with 18th and 19th century costuming. So here is a throwback to one of my #victorian looks

Same 😅 it myst also be noted that I know the dye is very ph sensitive, it was purple before I washed it with water from another room than the dye bath so this will likely be for personal projects 😄

I dyed with hollyhock yesterday and since I know it's not very lightfast I made a small wrap test, this will stay in the window for a while until I feel like the colour has changed and then i will check if it has.
